How it works
From first request to keys in hand.
Eight steps, always in the same order. At every stage you know what you’re doing, what we’re doing and how long it takes.
-
Step 1: Your request
- You
- You fill in the search form: your budget and needs, or the exact model.
- Huntly
- We read through it and prepare for our call.
- Time
- About 5 minutes
-
Step 2: Our call
- You
- You tell us what you’re after and ask any questions.
- Huntly
- We go over your criteria and give you a first idea of market prices and whether your budget is realistic.
- Time
- About 10 minutes, within 48 working hours
-
Step 3: Getting started
- You
- You pay a €99 deposit, which comes off the fee.
- Huntly
- The search begins.
- Time
- The same day
-
Step 4: The search
- You
- Nothing. We’ll keep you posted.
- Huntly
- We search in Belgium, then in Europe if you agree. We check each car and negotiate the price.
- Time
- Less than 10 days
-
Step 5: Your shortlist
- You
- You receive up to 5 checked cars, with photos, Car-Pass, history and negotiated price.
- Huntly
- We answer your questions and help you compare.
- Time
- Within 10 days
-
Step 6: Your choice
- You
- You choose the car, sign the confirmation of choice and pay the balance of the fee and any bonus.
- Huntly
- We then give you the seller’s details and arrange the viewing.
- Time
- As soon as you’ve chosen
-
Step 7: The viewing and the order form
- You
- You go and see the car (we recommend it) or accept it from photos and video, then sign the order form. Nothing is bought without your written agreement.
- Huntly
- We go with you whenever possible and prepare the documents with the seller.
- Time
- Whenever suits you
-
Step 8: Paying and picking up the keys
- You
- You pay the seller directly and drive away.
- Huntly
- We check the paperwork is in order and coordinate any extras (inspection, delivery, import).
- Time
- Depends on the seller and any extras
What we check
If we haven’t checked it, you won’t see it.
- The Car-Pass. For Belgian cars: the recorded mileage, with nothing that doesn’t add up.
- The service history. Service book, invoices, manufacturer recalls.
- Detailed photos. Bodywork, interior, tyres, engine bay. We ask for whatever is missing.
- Whether the price is fair. Compared with equivalent cars on the market.
- The Euro standard and the LEZ. To know whether the car can drive in Brussels, and until when.
- The documents. Registration certificate, certificate of conformity, roadworthiness test.
- The seller. Garage or private seller: identity, reliability, no signs of a scam.
- The car itself. If it’s in Belgium and we can, we go and see it in person.
Brussels LEZ check
Will your next car be allowed in Brussels?
Brussels’ low emission zone is gradually banning older cars. We factor this into every search. Try it now:
Allowed in the Brussels LEZ until 2029 at the latest.
For guidance only — the exact Euro standard is on the registration certificate. Official rules on lez.brussels. Rules checked on 30 October 2026.
